There are some perks to working for Halfords, the guys from midbass popped down yesterday with the new Astra VXR which is seriously kitted out with as much top premium vibe gear as possible.
It's using the standard stereo that uses a vibe product to make pre-outs that are boosted up to 9 volts (muchos clarity). They did a little test blast and boy is this loud. The long term plan for it is to make itas loud as the Merc ML but obviously alot more driveable :D

The whole theme for the build is factory look and keeping the centre "crease" that they have throughout the bonnet, dash and is continued onto the rear boot build.

Wow, that looks quality. I hate most boot builds as they aer too over the top but that looks really smart.
Still cant ignore the face of how much that is probably slowing the car down by though :(

Dude i'm really sorry and won't cause arguments but thats your opinion, not the gospel word. I enjoy working there. So by all means put your views across just not in a directed way such as that. If you've worked for halfords and actually been successful at what you did then your view would be different.

Guy who drove it said that he didn't feel too much of the effect of the weight, obviously it will affect it but he reckoned it's not as bad as you'd think.
I asked him if i could find out by driving it :slap: :angry:

Vibe sure no how to fit a factorying looking install, maybe this is whats to come from vx. Looks good but its still only vibe
Not a fan of the boot, but the door pods look really good!! They look factory!
vibe make a hi to low level convertor that boosts the voltage to 9 volts...? im sure 9 volts is out side of the amps operating range...
im going to check... sounds like a lot of waffle to me.

Yeah, the guys did stress how good the converting thing was, but thats what a reps job is, i was more interested in climbing around the car LOL

Totally agree with you matey.
I loved my time atr halfords and eventually become the ripspeed specialist for my store.
Anyway nice VXR.

yeah there was a new store launch and they had the corsa the focus and i think a saxo anyway a member of staff was showing the sound system and walked to the boot and sum chav just jumped in, i was pissed off as it was due to come to my store a few weeks after and my manager was gonna let me take it home for the evernings on the refit store launch weekend

i love that boot build, shame i dont like the general shape of the astra! but if they made them like this i'm sure they could win me over
