I'm trying to install an engine controll system with rev counter etc, but can't seem to get the signal to be efficent, aparently the signal from the cars ECU is only 5V where the other guages needs 12V to work correctly.
The vehicle is an Corsa C UTE (Utility/LDV)
Anyone that can advise, I have thried 2 methods of upping the signal to 12V, but neither seem to work.

Opel/Vauxhall Corsa C Utility, was available by us here in SA from 2002 untill currently.
Its the same front end as the Corsa C you get in the UK, except the grill is part of the bonnet and not the bumper and a few other small stuff, engine wise this is a 1.4, came standard 66kW, mine is over 85kW, going over 90 soon, without cams or opening the engine at all.

What methods have you tried?
If the signal is basically the same as what you want only too low voltage you should be able to use an off the shelf TTL to RS232 type converter, or you could roll your own with a couple of transistors or an op amp, plus some capacitors and resistors.
