View Full Version : Vauxhall OE Alarm
Got myself a 55 plate 1.4 SXI, and I'm in 2 minds whether its got an alarm or not, as I assumed it was only the SRI that got an alarm but my car being a 1.4 and being basically an SRI anyway (except from the Irmy spoiler/mirrors and 16s) I thought there may be a possibility it would have.
So does anyone know either way?
Secondly, if it doesnt have an alarm, can I possibly buy the exact specific alarm which was fitted to SRIs from the factory from my local Vauxhall dealer and have them fit it, and anyone any idea of the part number and cost? (reason I ask such specific questions is I know Vauxhall do a range of cheap crap aftermarket alarms which were never fitted to any of their cars from the factory)
I only want an alarm with interior ultrasonic sensors to go off if someone breaks into my interior/tries to steal the car so I cant justift spending mega money on a top of the range Clifford/Toad
It won't have it, unless it was put on as an extra.
I believe you should be able to have the proposed work done, weather vauxhall will do it is another matter. They can be funny about these things
Why not go for one of the lesser clifford/toad models?
You can get ones with just glass break and 'if someone is inside your car' sensors iirc.
anyone know a part number and price for the alarm fitted to SRIs from the factory?

vauxhall alarms have sensors in the roof next to the interia light.
it it possible to add the system as al the wiring is there you just need to by the horn, sensors and poss reprogram to timer unit.

I have the vaux ultrasonic alarm... If you wanna find out if yours has it open the mindows fully, lock the car (2 pushes on key fob) and walk past it. It will go off if it has it! It's a pain the arse...

And next to the two sensors will be a little button, so you can de-activate the interior sensors but still set the alarm!
clifford still do some good alarms on a reasonable budget mate, how many pounds are you talking?
I really want a Vaux OE alarm Wizzy tbh.
guys, if I put the car into my local Vaux dealer to get an alarm fitted, would they know my SXI has all the wiring for the alarm and hence just supply and fit the sensors, horn, power sounder and the button to deactivate the interior sensors or would they simply fit a whole complete new alarm on my car e.g. the aftermarket Vaux approved Meta MVX alarm etc.?

Why?, you will pay over the odds for it and would get a much better system for the money with an aftermarket one!
if it has an alarm lock the car and look at the hazard light switch, there will be a red flasshing light in it, then its alarmed, if theres no red light theres no alarm
