I was chatting to a fella member and thought about this. possibly happening next summer so it leaves alot of time to get things sorted. like cheap accomodation. Obviously it wud be nice for some uk c's to get over to this and obviously the norther ireland ones too. to do a road trip down throught ireland stopping off at various places and beaches to relax chill out and have as the irish say a hell of a lot of craic :D

post up ideas. i know the boat wud be about 150 back and forward but its worth it to see ireland :D and for the cheap fuel etc :D 77p a litre and 82p a litre :D and some wicked sites :D

Heres A Link to the page for names and details :D http://www.corsa-c.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=104105

jonnygearbox
13-10-2007, 13:10
If we spent a good 5 days travelling ireland and say 5 nyts the hostels wud come to about 120 Euro that wud be the top price. so ur talking about 80quid for 5 nyts. which aint bad. its just trying to get a cheap boat over. and then obviously the food :D

jonnygearbox
13-10-2007, 13:23
im thinking the boat might be about 200ish quid for the julyish time of year as that would give us the biggest hope of getting sun :D

krisj
13-10-2007, 13:39

it wud be possible for ppl to get there own way across but i was thinking maybe a group sailing from bikenhead to belfast or fleetwood to larne. obviously ppl could get the boat from holyhead to dublin and we could meet up with them there. just whatever works out for ppl

krisj
13-10-2007, 14:09
id go from fishguard

jonnygearbox
13-10-2007, 14:10
well if you cud sort out boat across on the day we are to meet up then sorted lol
its just the boats will have to be booked probably at the start of next year aswell as accomodation

*Ria*
13-10-2007, 15:12
This sounds like a really good idea

jonnygearbox
13-10-2007, 16:38
I lookeding into boats and it will probably be the dearest considering its harder to book now for july and the such but it i space it out enough then it wud give ppl a good bit to save for it all :D i hope this goes through cause this could get bigger and bigger every year..There would be alot of beaches to stop and chill out on the way. And we can have bbq's etc etc and a big finishing party somewhere like portrush or summat on a saturday nyt and then stay over and cruise portstewart on sunday nyt to say goodbye as portstewart is a big cruising town on a sunday nyt..

come on ppl gimme ideas. like things to do on the way and when we are there etc etc.....

oh yeah whos ever seen father ted?

krisj
13-10-2007, 19:07

well july time eh?

Deff up for it.. :D will be cool.. just hope im covered to drive in Ireland

jonnygearbox
13-10-2007, 22:00
yeah you should be but ring up and ask. im looking to get it sorted to start on the 10th of july and finish on the 15th of july so we can end up in portstewart on the sunday nyt to do some serious cruising as during the summer there is serious amounts of cars in the portstewart promenade on the sunday nyt and it would look cool maybe 15 corsa c's driving up in Unison

Richard_H
14-10-2007, 12:43
Depending on dates and prices I would be up for this

jonnygearbox
14-10-2007, 13:21
would everyone be ok with the 10th to the 15th? i think a week would be too long. so 5 days wud seem better. wot does everyone think?

krisj
14-10-2007, 14:02
sounds good

jonnygearbox
14-10-2007, 14:08
This is just an idea what about if i tell total vauxhall when we get it sorted and maybe get someone over to cover it??? :)

jonnygearbox
14-10-2007, 14:14
Also to make the cost cheaper. if ppl bring a mate with them and then they can half the cost of the boat etc :D and it wud work out as a cheap holiday for ppl :D

SilSxi12
14-10-2007, 14:20
Im in for this, ill even book the time off work for it and wash the car too :P

Great Idea Jonny Lad!!!!

jonnygearbox
14-10-2007, 15:45

and the gardai are a pain with modded cars especially with eng plates, got some family in ireland and i know someone who drive a modded toyota who works for them and still gets stopped maybe one twice a week

Watch the speeding as well as you know law changes have come into effect which means that if you get caught speeding points and punishment can be put on your license

Scaremonging over im interested need to see cashflow tho

jonnygearbox
25-12-2007, 19:15
thats balls. the guards dont give anyone in modded cars hassle. only if they cause trouble. if u get caught speeding u get 3 points on ur 'irish' lisence and £50 quid fine. the point dont effect ur uk lisence
