Well, here they are, the first pictures of my D... took me long enough lol. It is standard at the minute, apart from the richbrook valve caps and the richbrook numberplate bolts, both are nice touches. Sorry about how non-clean the car is though lol

It is a 1.2 SXi and I love it!!

Great cars but I think you may regret getting the 1.2, even my girlfriends mum's 1.4 is painfully slow! :|

To be fair the 1.2isn't actually as bad as some people say it is. I find that the different gear ratios help alot too.

I really like em from the rear but the front just looks to heavy n bulky-them lights are just massive for such a small car!

15-10-2007, 09:32
Lol, not a Corsa-D!

Pvt Killer
15-10-2007, 09:57
lol, Fusco is right there... the lights look perfect on the D, does help with the car actually being bigger than you expect too.

Fancy trading headlights with me? I want some with the black on the bottom to match the car, but I have silver.

Pvt Killer
15-10-2007, 10:04
Haha... ummm, nah ya ok mate, happy with the darker headlights I am lol

Keith Fusco
15-10-2007, 10:08

i got my car on finance right its a C, but if i traded it in and got one of these on finance, would it just bump my finance up lol ?

Pvt Killer
15-10-2007, 10:20
It depends how much you have paid off on the C and also how much they will give you for the C.

Awesome, I'll steal them then. :P

Yeah, it would. I owed roughly £2,000 on my C when I traded it in, so I just got that added onto the finance of the D.

www.corsa-d.co.uk? (http://www.corsa-d.co.uk?)

Wonder why we actually have that site

For Corsa-D people to talk on.

But this is the "Your Cars" section. It doesn't say "Post only your Corsa-C, and your Corsa-C only in here". It says "Post your cars specs and pix here". Namely, any car of your own.

Basically, the account needs to be approved by one of the admin staff, but they're on holiday, so you'll have to wait for them to come back from laxing, so they can let you on there.

15-10-2007, 11:23
Ah, I see. Makes sense, Cheers. Look forward to posting and seeing if youve got any suggestions on mine to mod, standard at moment

Keith Fusco
15-10-2007, 11:24
I've got a few. ;)

SaltyMax50
15-10-2007, 11:26
And shes black, Had to be done ;) Although I am liking the one above in red! I know C owners are not so keen on these but they grow on you

Keith Fusco
15-10-2007, 11:28
Jackpot. Black's the nicest colour, as I have one lol.

DaveP
15-10-2007, 11:33
one of my mates has just got one, they are starting to grow on me a bit.. love the interia

SaltyMax50
15-10-2007, 12:09
Jackpot on the black indeed, Bit of polish and paint shine's like a beaut. Yer was the interior that sold it to me. Petrols Engine's could do with bit of spicying up I do have to admit. How do you find the Diesel Keith?

Keith Fusco
15-10-2007, 13:24
I love my diesel. I couldn't get a petrol. I had a 1.4 as a hire car when mine was in for repairs, and it was terrible. The D needs a turbo boost, to make it move, with the excess weight.

SaltyMax50
15-10-2007, 13:35
Yer the diesel's seem to get alot of better reviews. the 1.4 seems do me about right. Does lack poke as you say with the weight. Dread to think how the 1.0 life performs:err:lol

Keith Fusco
15-10-2007, 14:06
Lol, I know!

I had to proper rev the arse off the 1.4 to get it to move, where in the 1.3, I just go steady away, and it's fine.

SaltyMax50
15-10-2007, 14:43
Haha , Sounds about right, Worse when new. Na its does me about right, would like a little more poke, but thats always the case really lol. How the wheel situation coming along by the way Keith?
Pvt, how come you didnt go for 1.4 for the extra 500, may I ask?

Pvt Killer
15-10-2007, 14:51
I drove the 1.2 and felt it was enough.... I'm only 19 and have plenty of time to worry about performance lol. Next car will have alot more poke though :P

Keith Fusco

Wheels are going bad. I can't find anything I want! :(

SaltyMax50
15-10-2007, 15:45
True, No major differance between 1.2 and 1.4 Im guessing, Vxr Performance tho Oo :P, Love the wheels and Kit comes on them.

Shame to hear about the wheels, Whats the max size you can fit on these I wonder?

Pvt Killer
15-10-2007, 15:52
I think the biggest that has been seen is 19", these were on some German prototype gas powered thing lol.

Edit: Found the link (http://www.salon-auto.ch/fr/en_images/index_zoom.php?idIndex=0&idContent=10446)

SaltyMax50
15-10-2007, 16:13
Haha Nice, Oddly enough, these dont look that huge on the D lol.
How come you went for the D then? For me it was the first car I looked at when out car shopping and I took the brochure out with me and that shot the black SXi just sold it to me, and any other I looked at I wasnt as intrested haha.

Pvt Killer
15-10-2007, 16:19
Well I had a C, was only a 1.2 Club. I only really bought it to get me started. Then my insurance renewal came through... I was TPFT on the C and for just £200 extra I could of insured the D fully comp lol.

The above coupled with the fact I fell in love with the car when I saw it... they are still not a common car, there were just far too many Cs on the road lol. Next came the test drive, my god it felt so nice on the road, it handles so nice and it feels like you can really push it round the corners.

I had a C for a first car last year, but the insurance killed me (£2,175), so it worked out cheaper getting the D with the year's free insurance, than paying for the C, so I done it.

:woops: thank you pvt killer your getting their

SaltyMax50
15-10-2007, 18:14
Couldnt agree more with you on the handling Pvt, 'Appenlty' the sxi has differance handling to the rest of the range, or that's what was sold to me but I do find its take corners very well, Feels solid. Doesnt feel like my old clio's sponge springs, fast corners where a no-no lol
Lol to the above also, I promise I post back when I can I corsa-D, Just need to be accepted :(

Pvt Killer
15-10-2007, 18:18
Yeah the SXi does have uprated suspension, maybe a little lower than the lower models too... not too sure but definatly uprated suspension lol.

SaltyMax50
15-10-2007, 18:21
Ah Good, Not all salepeople lie then :) Also looking at the specs in the handbook Sxi have slighty quicker 30-70 speed than the rest of the lower range, not sure how thats works though. I think if you opted in for the 17's you got lower suspension. 400 quid for an extra inch and low profiles jsut seems bit high to me.

Pvt Killer
15-10-2007, 18:27
Yeah as I said, the ride height I wasn't so sure about but definatly a better suspension set-up. Also regarding the times that VX give out... I can't say they are very accurate lol.

lanni
15-10-2007, 18:29
top suspension good on corners

Pvt Killer
15-10-2007, 18:29
And Lanni summed it up in 5 words :P lol

Keith Fusco
15-10-2007, 18:31
I love throwing it around corner's, as it hardly moves, unlike the C used to. The bodyroll was terrible.

15-10-2007, 18:32

Pvt Killer
15-10-2007, 18:34
The handling is probably one of the big selling points for the car... ok it isn't meant to be thrown around corners or anything, but god its fun to do, it takes them so well lol

SaltyMax50
15-10-2007, 18:37
true, Had to laugh when I first took it out for proper run, took fairly sharp corner with fair bit of speed and came out fine, although a unknown C behide my look like he tired to copy, next thing I see in rear view mirror was his headlights Swerving side to side in the road trying to correct themselves (thankfully they did). Although with some of the drivers around here at night I more thank likey blame the driver lol

Pvt Killer
15-10-2007, 18:40
The handling on standard C's is just truely aweful in my opinion... take a corner too fast and you end up in the passenger seat after the car has thrown you that way lol. Whereas in the D you stay in your seat all the way... thats another thing I like, the SXi seats, they are soooo comfy it is unreal!

Keith Fusco
15-10-2007, 18:42

Lol, I done the same when I first got it.

First roundabout I came to, as I used to chuck the C around it, and felt like I was tipping over, the D handled it amazingly well.

SaltyMax50
15-10-2007, 18:59
Vauxhall did make a big thing about the D's suspension, I love it chucking it round corners, havnt felt at risk once, Seats hold you so well and good for long trips, But bet not as good as those VXR seats tho

15-10-2007, 20:25
The new SRI looks alright but is abit pricey
