Best way to screw sub in??

Trying to make holes in my box to screw my sub down.

Whats the best way? Drill? Screwdriver etc??

make small pilot holes with a small drill bit (smaller than diameter of screw) then screw the screws in.

the hole for the sub seems too big :?

Ive got an alpine type R sub and the proper alpine box, and everytime I try and position it, 2 or 3 holes have nowhere to screw just thin air :?

Managed to just fit it. The hole was cut too big imo.

Anyways all wired up and sounding amazing so far :D
