As the title says...Alternator upgrade!

gona be upgrading my alternator, to handle my sound system.
ive been told by one ov my suppliers that a vectra 120A one shud do the trick, as it LOOKS like it wud fit, and the connections look the same, ive checkd my catalogues, nd checkd the diagrams, all looks fine...mite jus need 2 change the pulley if anything..

but.. was wondering.. if anyones already done it..and if so what did u chuck in??? and also what battery are you running on it? and alsooo.. did u upgrade the cables running from the battery to the alternator (my supplier says just double up the cables??)

Advice??? (from the people who've done and dusted this problem!)

i was talking to a member of vvoc last saturday (whilst waiting for tyre fitting) about marcus_25 having a problem with starting his car (as if the battery's dying).
he mentioned that with some past motor's he's owned, he'd replaced his stock alternator (petrol) with a diesel version (something to do with diesel alternator's having a better output)
personally i've not heard of this being done before on a corsa, although he claims it's worked well on 2 of his previous vectra's.
