New battery

Last night, my battery died. I was told i need to get a new one as the current one is the original battery and is on its way out. (52 plate corsa) Where can i get a new one? What are prices like? I'm in the stirling area if that helps.

You got a halfords trade card? If so you can one for £40-£50. Otherwise from any good car parts shop like car spares.

these were the cheapest places i could find, halfords are far too expensive (unless you have trade discount).

Thanks guys. My brother has a halfords trade card (apprentice mechanic) so i might get him to get me one today. Also, the radio has lost its security code. do i have to go to a vauxhall dealer to get it fixed or can any garage do it?

do you not have the little vauxhall credit card thing with all the car codes on it - if not then think vx it'll be think i heard they are bout 20 quid to get another one of those cards

i would have ur battery checked first to find out if it has dead cells if not then just recharge ur batt an if its fine it might be a short in ur car or the ultinator which drains the battery =[ but if it is the batt its not to expensice to replace =]

I doubt it the alternator. How old is the car. Do the headlights dim when you put them on? Do all the electrics work correctly when the car is on? Does the battery light on the dashboard come on when the engine is working? If any of the above then its the alternator. If not its just the battery.

Its a 52plate, so 5 years?
only 11k on the clock so its not been thrashed or anything.
Hope its not the alternator as i cant afford a new one ATM.:(

hello again.i got the battery checked last night, just had a dead cell. its been re-charged and everything is working. except for the radio. i couldnt fid the passcard with the code on it.:(
