Right, I started fitting my car audio yesterday, Ive got SPL Dynamics SD6.2 Front components, which i want to run off my 2 channel Alpine Amp!

Today i put in all the wires for the amp wiring kit to the boot following the tutorial , Ive got a QX connect 4quage wring kit as i will upgrade one day! But i have got a few questions about the wiring...........

1. Firstly, Where has everyone mounted or what have they attached there inline fuse holder to under the bonnet?

2. My QX connect 4 gauge wiring kit, came with the teminal already attached on the end of the power and earth cables, these are too big to fit into the sllocated space on the amp, do i have bought some fork terinals that will fit, so, how do i put the new terminal on then end of the 4gauge power cable that i have stripped, im pritty sure its too big to use my crimping tool in, do i solder it?

3. So i can prepare for the rest of the fitting tomorrow, how tick in mm was the MDF u used to make the speaker baffles?

4. How has everyone attached there remote cable at the HU end of it, if i want to do it really neatly, is it posible for me to solder on or crimp on a bullet connecter and shove that in the end of the female connecter bit on the end of the remote lead on the HU?

Cheers Guys

1. Inline fuse is often loose, although above my battery is a lill bit of plastic that I just put a few self tappers thru to fix it in place
2. If u have the ratchet crimps u shud just be able to cut the old spade connector off, strip down to the wire and with a bit of force be able to crimp it in place. I did my live today as i upgraded, took a while but got there in the end.
Other two m8 I'm not so sure on, sorry. Give it sum time and I'm sure some1 will b able to give u rest of the answers

Hey mate,

As he said for 1 and two, can also answer 4 as I installed my new iDA-X001 tonight :)

1. My inline fuse is loose too... no problems with that whatsoever.
2. Yes cut off the connectors which are too large, and crimp on either fork terminals or ring terminals. Not sure what the ones you have are like. Basically as long as the wire has metal contact with the crimp, and its held in place nice and tight, it doesnt matter how its crimped. Just follow those two rules and you will be fine.
4. I crimped all my wires..... Unfortunaltly the headset I ordered didnt have an ISO connector, so I got the Corsa -> ISO adapter I had and cut off the head unit end, and used bullet connectors to wire that into the head unit adapter which came in the package.

For the remote wire I did the same, actually cut off the bullet connector which was already on the end of the remote wire from the head unit, and put my own on. So... cut, strip, crimp a male bullet connector into the wire from the head unit, and do the same with a female bullet connector onto the wire going into your boot, shove them together, tada.

Hope it helps

3. 18mm baffle bolted in place and it is amazing compared o the plastic adaptor.
