Ok guys I'm getting an infinity basslink II for xmas which is rated at 250wrms, it comes with a free 16 gauge wiring kit.. but to my mind this is too paltry, especially I will be looking to add the supplementary amp (additional 190wrms) at some point in the future.

would I be better off with an 8 guage or even a 4 gauge, or would this be overkill?

MY BASIC QUESTION IS WILL 8 GAUGE POWER AND EARTH CABLE BE FINE TO HANDLE 390WRMS OR NOT?

something like this better?

AN ADDON 8 GAUGE KIT WILL BE AN EXTRA £10 NOT SURE ABOUT 4 GAUGE YET

it would be yeah
but i ran an 8 gauge for my jbl amp
month or so after, decide to get a vibe subwith built in amp
had to rip that one out and replace it with 4 gauge, always best to be future proof ;)

I've just realised I had 16 gauge running my old JBL GTO 450wrms amp in my Corsa :| and it was fine for 2 years :|

Well as future proof as I'm gonna be, is to get the addon amp for the basslink, which is an extra 4 x 35wrms at 4 ohm
