View Full Version : Help for an I.C.E amatuer
Ive got a really sweet alpine head unit coming my from the fat man in the red suit lol (alpine ida-x001) and basically i want an all alpine set up, but was just wondering if i need all of whats on this mock up list?
*Front door speakers replaced
*tweeters replaced
*rear speakers replaced
*6x9s in parcel shelf
*sub
*amp
*power inverter
- ive seen a s*** hot sub i want and was thinking of buying two of them (theyre alpine 3000watt each - $300 on ebay from america) - told a mate of mine and he said that the subs would be that powerful it could put my windows through - thought he was being overdramatic but ive read posts where its actually happened
-can anyone suggest a good amp that could power these subs and if i need to replace eveything listed -
ANY REPLIES I'D BE VERY WELCOME!
front speakers go for components, this will include the mid range driver and tweeters, you can replace your rears but would worry about them last, not a huge amount of room for them.
if your getting a sub dont get 6*9s, get coaxials. dont put them in the parcel shelf as when the sub drops the air preasure in the boot will increase pushing the cones of the speakers in the shelf will be pushed up.
also, you may get better value for your money usinga mix of different brands

Everyone will say lose the 6x9s, If you are replacing the front and rear speakers they are fairly pointless. But it is all about personal preference tbh, If you want a good quality system, or a loud one.
Other than that sounds like a pretty good plan
Good luck with it.
pretty much what dan put, dont have 6x9's rear speakers and a sub
just have front speakers and a good sub/amp
and look at different brands, why do you want all alpine?

i dont know why i want all Alpine tbh, just I dont want to do things by half, and I've just been told Alpine offer best sound quality

You want a 2000W mono channel for the subs and about 100Wx4 for the speakers.
You will not find an amp that will do both.
You will want a mono amp and a 4 channel amp.
If you give me a price I will go and hunt around.
the subs will cost me £200 each (want 2) (already seen)
the door speakers il spend £100 for a good set
the rear speakers il spend £100 too
if i need two amps il pay upto £500 for the both of them
ANY HELP, IVERY GRATEFUL :doublethumbs:

No they are not. Their power figures are basically just lies.
hi guys, similar ICE question, Just got my my 1st car two days ago... got no money as insurance was a b**ch. but a facelift corsa sxi. Think iv got a rip in one of my rear speakers so gonna need changing. was thinkin 6x9s but alot of ppl say they no point.
Basically im after Quality over everything and then Loudness. so what would you recommend?
What kind of Speakers? Components?
Get them wired to an amp?
Do i need a Cross Over thingy... if so what do they do exactly?
Cheers
not 6*9s then.
headunit first
components for the front running from headunit
if you can afford it then a sub and amp, if you've still got money left amp the front components instead of using the headunit.
crossovers split frequencies out and in most cases are park of a kit as they are set at specific frequencies for the speakers.
