Damn tape player

Is it possible to buy a CD player (you know, the standard VX one) and straight swap it for my tape player? If so where would I get one from? I've checked the VX site, and couldn't see any.

I'm only asking because I think it'd be cheaper than getting an aftermarket one at a new fascia

Aftermarket route will be cheaper and better imo. stereos start from about £80 if you just want a basic thing and a fascia is only about £10.

So atleast £70.

It's better than a standard one though.
