View Full Version : HIDs stopped working :(
Well they stopped working so i checked the fuse and it had gone, replaced that and still not coming on :(
I am using the harness with them so that it takes the signal off the passengers side light and that was the fuse that had gone. I had a 15amp one in there the manual says 10amp but i didn't have a 10 just now so whacked a 20amp in. Still no luck though. I have checked the iring apart from the HIDs themselves inside the lights.
Any Ideas?
Thanks love you long time

maybe because you had a 15 amp one in, and it should have been 10? therefor blew the components?
My fuse blew too. Looked like it had melted because water had got in, and it was all deformed.
Got a new fuse from halfords and pushed it in as far as i could get it, (not very far because the fuse holder had all bent) then wacked loads of insulating tape around it so it was water tight.
Has worked fine since.
Are you sure the fuse is touching the terminals inside the fuse holder?

Erm i changed the fuse in the main fuse part, is there one in the harness aswell?
Yeah the one on the harness was the one that blew for me. Its on the wire that goes to the battery, about 20cms from the batt :)

Forgot to check that one as it started raining! Will check it tomorrow thanks
Checked the inline fuse this morning and it looks fine :? :?
BUT the 20amp fuse i put in the fuse box to replace the one that blow, has blown again :? The HIDs didn't work when i changed it either?
Any ideas what that could be?
Sounds like something is shorting out somewhere. Have you checked all connections ?

Yeh most apart from the ones on the bulbs inside the lights themselves gonna do that later.
On the ballasts is there like a reset thing on mine there is a cap maybe a rest button under there?
Cheers Dan
