Hi guys, i've fit a 1.8 from a 2005 corsa c into my 2001 corsa c, everythings connected up etc apart from the ecu plug which needs re-wiring.
does anybody have/be able to get hold of, or know where i could get a wiring diagram for a 1.8 2005 corsa c? i've tried vauxhall near me, they tried, but they couldnt find a diagram for it for me.
anyone have any ideas?
Haynes ? But that won't probably go into wiring of the ECU

they dont do a haynes manual for the 1.8 corsa mate, they do one for the 1.8 astra which has the same engine, but im not sure if the wiring on the ecu is the same...

I contacted head office once and it took 2 weeks for a reply (email)
Best of ringing them. I'm not sure if EPC has a wiring diagram, a few people on here have the software they may be able to help.

thanks matey :doublethumbs: i'll ring them in the morning cos theyre probably shut now. thanks alot though, i'd never thought of ringing head office, i just tried the local vauxhall dealers near me.
if anybody has EPC do you know if there is the ecu diagram for the 1.8??
i got TIS2000 and EPC so i'll have a butchers later for ya......

nice one! thanks alot :D that would be great! i finally found a place that will do the wiring on my ecu, but they need the wiring diagram 1st. so if i manage to get hold of one it'll mean i have a car again lol. thanks alot guys!
get hold of a 1.8 loom instead? how u gettin around abs or did your car and donor have it?

which part of the loom do you need??? as its seperated into sections IIRC....
and is it a z18xe engine you refer to?? or is it the z18xep with canbus wiring???

ive got the loom from the 1.8 for the engine loom, but the other bit comes from the fuse box for the headlights etc, i tried getting one but couldnt get one anywhere and ive got the 2nd plug from the 1.8, so it basically just needs the wires re-positioning into the new plug, in the pin holes that the 1.8 has them in.
i cant remember how the engine guy said, but my car doesnt have the abs, but there is a way you can get around it. i think it might be you just swap two wires around or somethin.. or i might be wrong, but i know he said you can get around it without it causing any faults. maybe it needs something editing in the ecu, i cant remember to be honest.
it can be switched off on tech 2 iirc....

yeh i understand...see if you can get hold of a front harness...cos there is one plug very close to the ecu which doesnt fit properly (the 1.2 harnes) onto the 1.8 engine harness!

i cant remember what the loom is actually called but its the one that comes from the fuse box, theres two plugs going into the ecu, one from the engine loom, which is fine, then the one i need is the other on the loom from the fuse box? from what ive seen though, on the ecu wiring diagrams it shows the diagram for both plugs on the one diagram.
and the engine im looking for is the z18xe mate :D thanks alot! ive been looking for a diagram for aaaages. really appreciate your help!

the little plug that didnt fit came out right near the ecu plug..

yeah i know which you mean mate, its got like a lil green rubber bit around it. yeah i got the one for the 1.8 with the ecu plug, its already wired to the new plug that. i just need the loom wiring into the new plug. the guy that took the 1.8 out of the other car to fit a 2ltr said if u dont sort out the ABS it runs but see's the ABS has a fault and limits the power. but il get that sorted as i get the ecu done anyway.
how have u gone about the bcm and the imobliser? have u changed them or re wired them?
you recode the 1.2 bcm :)

ive got the transponder and key chip from the 1.8 which should sort out the immobiliser (hopefully). ive finally found where the brake servo plugs into on the 1.8 too. it was in a different place to my 1.4 engine, instead of to the side of the throttle body its below the throttle body at the back in the middle of the inlet manifold. but it was hard to find as the lil piece of copper pipe it slots onto was missing. but it wasnt a problem once i found it cos i just unscrewed the copper pipe connection thing from the 1.4 engine and screwed it into the 1.8s manifold. now all ive gotta do is make the servo pipe shaped to reach the new location.

yeah mate everything plugged into the new engine fine. only thing that ive had problems connecting up is one of the ecu plugs which had a different style plug with it being wiring from a 2001 1.4 corsa, trying to fit into a 2005 1.8 corsa. but ive got the plug from the 1.8 and its just a matter of checking the 1.4 wiring diagram, writing down what each wire is for, then checking the 1.8 wiring diagram, and seeing where each of those wires goes into on the 1.8 plug. then it should all be fine and dandy.
have u found a wiring diagram for the 1.8 ecu?

yeah i think so, ive been told the 1.8 wiring diagram is on a cd ive ordered, it should come on tuesday so hopefully i can get the car finished for christmas.
hows the wiring going does it run?

ive literally just finished the wiring, with christmas and all the rain we've had i havent had much chance to do it. but i took all the wires out of the 1.4 plug, labelled which pin number they came from, then checked what each pin number was for on the 1.4 diagram, then figured out which wire did the same job on the 1.8 and wrote down what the pin number for the 1.8 version was. then put the 1.4 pin numbers into the 1.8 pin number holes on the 1.8 plug. just soldered the alarm wire back onto the ignition and got it to turn over, but the battery is too flat from being sat around so long, so ive just put the battery on charge now.
now its just a wait til i have enough juice to get the thing to fire up :D but the main thing is it turned n sounded healthy enough. just gonna use the time to put the new spark plugs etc in.

thanks mate, but ive got the diagrams now, its all finished. just a matter of waiting til my battery is fully charged again.
it'll probably take all night to fully charge. but im hoping if i stare at it enough it'll speed up.

hi sorry took so long to reply, havent been able to log in lately. nah the battery kept dying on me, it'd been sat around for a few months though. so ive ordered a new one which should arrive on monday, but the power needs looking at anyway cos there isnt a spark or fuel pressure, so im taking it to a guy in carlisle called jdm dyno, he's done plenty n he seems confident about fixing it. so im taking it there on the 13th and hopefully it will be working not long after then :D
