Ok guys, here goes, replaced my CD30 MP3 with an aftermarketn HU today. i bought the wiring kit from halfrauds and plugged it in to my car, no life! i have however 2 extra wires that dont go anywhere, one is "switched 12V" (red) and the other is "illumination" (orange)

does anyone know where these go?

help greatly appreciated!

EDIT: dont quote me on it but if you hook up the red to your ignition wire it will fire up when ever the key is turned :)

this is what i thought, but it doesnt work. the yellow wire on the plug is 12v (permanent supply) which plugs into the red on the car, but theres no ignition wire there? its a right faff

Make sure you have plugged the loose wires at the back of the loom into each other.

had it checked over today, sounds like theres a power supply problem. so then, no fuses are blown, what could the prob be? a resistor somewhere that anyone knows of?

Well when i turned it on 1st time it worked, but when i had to install it into the dash, it wouldn't work so i went opened the Fuse box and seen that the fuse was blown so i changed it. so really it blew within 20 secs

just wire it up and see what happens, if it doesn't just check the fuse :)
