View Full Version : can you have 2 amps without upgrading battry / alternator ?

right,

At the moment.. i have 1 amp ( FLI 800S 4 channel )

I have this powering 2 JBL subwoofers..

Was just looking to add another amp to power my 6x9 and door speakers...

will i need to upgrade my battry or alternator or will my car handle 2 amps fine ? along with a couple of neons ?

it'll be fine :)

you may get a big of light diming, but if you do, and it really bothers you, upgrade the BIG 3, thats in the ICE sticky :thumbs:

Ohhh and i already get plenty of light dimming on the dash!... the headlights dim slightly!. i just dont want to be driving down the road and the engine cuts out .

what wattage is ur amps though ? and what wire have you used ?

The Big 3:
* batery to chasis
* alternator to battery positive
* alternator to battery negative

I got 2 amps in as well..
3000watt powering sub
1500watt powering 6x9's

Power cable is 4awg to splitter then 8awg to amps.
Works fine, had no fuses go yet.

I have 240amps worth of current comming off one battery through 0awg wiring to two amps. I get light dimming but nothing too serious, although a second battery would be the best option.

Im planning on doing TB3 very soon, ill let you know how it goes :thumbs:
