I have a temp role available with my client (Initially 3 months) Looking at a rate of £8-£10ph. PM me if interested and I'll give you details on registering.

Role is based in Bretton. PBoro.

Our client is looking to recruit a Media Computer Operator to work in a Computer Room environment.

The applicant should have a good working knowledge of PCs and its associated Windows Software , Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and e-mail.

This role requires the applicant to be customer focused with essential skills being able to work as part of a team to achieve team goals. A friendly telephone manner is also a must as is the ability to work without supervision thus giving the individual the opportunity to use their initiative to take control of issues and problems and to help resolve them.

The individual should also have a drive and determination to learn and develop new skills and tools. The use of a car is essential as you may be required to drive to different sites in the Peterborough area.

The position involves working as part of a small team of 3, which forms part of the bigger Media Library Team of 18 staff.

The shift pattern is as follows: -
Early Shift 08:00 - 15:45 (x4)
Middle Shift 15:45 - 22:45 (x4)
Late Shift 22:45 - 08:00 (x4)
Off Shift (x4)
Weekend Early Shifts 08:00 - 20:00
Weekend Late Shifts 20:00 - 08:00

Based on the above shift pattern, a member of staff will typically work 16 days a month (not as one continuous run) covering approximately 135 hours. This pattern subsequently leaves 14 days a month free for personal time, which is a real bonus to working a shift pattern.

Main roles include - basic telephone queries, use of various computer applications, maintenance of tape drives and dealing with couriers.

Other duties include assisting in the running of the Media Library by running all media applications on a number of Mainframe and Mid-Range systems whilst working under the direct supervision of the Shift Leader or deputy.

Computer Media will need to be loaded quickly and efficiently on to IBM, Compaq, Unisys, Tandem, DEC and other manufacturers tape hardware as and when directed via Netview, TBSM or MA

^^^^ and what point are you trying to make?

Re the other replies. PM's all replied to. Register at www.reed.co.uk and I'll pm you the consultant to contact at the Reed Technology branch that are working the role for me. Because I'm the Managed Service Consultant for the Client and its a role that I manage on their behalf, I can't put people forward, only a 'supplier' like a Reed Technology Branch can do that.
