Right just a little update, we have set a provisional date, this will not be the definate date until we get enough members saying it is fine for them.

Provisional date: Sunday 20th April

There may be a few members making a weekend out of this, I can see it being a very good meet!

Are we arranging for a night/weekend stop-over. I think camping would be a good laugh, and get to know each other after a few strong ale's!

UPDATE!

Just rang up The Ship Inn, the carpark we are meeting at does NOT belong to them... so now I need to find out who it belongs to, find another suitable meeting point or just turn up... the latter of which I didn't really want to do, but it's out in the sticks so shouldn't be too much of a problem I hope

Who does it belong to then??? Best be sure before you tell everyone to go there as we dont want anothe balls up which WILL put more people off coming to national meets:doublethumbs:

Wont the pub just tell you who it belongs to... Tell them you will be bringing lots of business to the local businesses due to the amounts of cars and us all wanting to go to the pub for dinner.... Sell the site and the people who are going to them. Might make it easier for them to say yes

The first place is a good spot... right in the middle of bowness, on the glebe.. just not much space for everyone.

where abots r u all meetin im defo up 4 it as im travelling back up from oxford on sunday 20th. i kinda thought penrith would be good place to go coz its easy 2 get to coz the people from the south and scotland vcan use the m6 and people from the east can use the a66.:D

Just been in contact with the South Lake District Council. They don't have a problem with use using the Pay and Display car park, I can't see it being that expensive and it's better than nothing. So we can either go with that or keep looking? I know that if we do go with it we will have members dropping out because they don't want to pay... but there isn't much else round that area really.

Get that in writing as there was a huge meet sorted on the sea front ages ago, council said it was fine if we all paid. So we did and then the coppers came down and turfed everyone out as there was about 30 cars in the public car park.

Aye, problem is they don't man the phones on the weekend so if you get a spot of bother with the police there is no one to verify your story :(

We've had no end of bother in the past round this area with coppers breaking up meets etc.
