It may be to much hassle for some people but it really is'nt.

I usually use 25mm MDF and make my own TBH!

i agree, plus its more of a solid hold with mdf, alot of memeber say it improves the sound as well, check out jacko's or coops threads on how to make one. think jackos ways easier.

It is miles easier  I just wanted my mids angled, but the extra effort probably wasnt worth it.

Anyway, its VERY VERY VERY easy to make a baffle the way jack did! All you need is a piece of mdf and a jigsaw!

Honestly, it will be miles better than a crappy plastic one, and really isnt difficult. Just look at his thread, its piss easy! All you do is basiclly cut a 'circle' of mdf

btw coops what thickness of mdf should i use? I found the DLS R6A speakers at £120 + £10 carriage, but the guy said they sell some Earthquake speakers that all the techies at this ICE place have in there cars at £170 which im sure i can get the price lower.

http://www.earthquakesound.com/vtek_coaxials.htm its the second set, the VTEK MC-6
You ever heard of them? Cause iv read a few reviews tht the DLS weakness are the tweeters but not sure...
what you reckon?

I think jack used 18mm mdf as this was needed to space the speakers out enough so they didnt catch on the window mech as the magnets are quite big.

To be totally honest mate, ive never heard of 'earthquake' speakers and they sound to me like a load of sh*t. Sounds like a dealers brand like inphase. They just push their products on you to pursuade you they are the best. Ied ignore it and go with tried and tested brands

Ive heard the DLS's in jacks car and the tweeters are beautiful. Such a nice sound.

Ive also heard the top of the range DLS Nobellium tweeters in Kyle'87 's car and the sound gourjeus too.

Dont doubt them mate, they will sound awesome

Right ill see how much the next models up MS6A etc are if he offered £120 for R6A's and everywhere they're £170. iv got more of a budget now upto £170
Thanks Coops

well if i worse comes to worse and you cant find it or dont want to make a mdf baffle...get the universal one and drill holes?3

its universal btw the 3 mounting holes seem in the same position as on a corsa, hence so many holes?? or it is just me seeing things.

As far as I know the aftermarket speaker adapters only take 13cm or 17cm speakers. They do only have three holes to screw to the door. They are not exactly circular so universal ones might not fit properly. But to be honest they're all terrible. My advice if you don't want to make them yourself, make a cardboard or paper template (use the old speaker as a guide) and get a carpenter to cut them for you. Prob cost the same as plastic adapters anyway.

that universal one only seems to have 2 sets of 4 holes in it, doesnt look like they're positioned to fit the 3 holes, im going to go along to my local ICE specialist today to see if they have them

They will have the 3 hole version that fit perfectly into the corsa but as far as I know the adapters are only designed to take 13cm and 17cm speakers. Your 6" won't fit.

sorry to bump this thread but for everyones information. just on the off chance i decided to get a set of autoleads speaker adaptors for the corsa from halfords, and they fit them no problem! dont even need to use the adaptor plates supplied with the speakers, so that saves me the hassle of having to fabricate some adaptors!
