That's the tutorial mate.. should help you :)
av looked at that buddy. cheers. but i wanna no what people have done to find out the best ay if you see what i mean?? lol!
Just read the How-To and it's not the best I've seen.
I've done loads of headlights, mainly Astra G ones but the theory is exactly the same, I have 3 sets apart right now for spraying, one will be done red to match his car, must remember to take pics this time :)
The best way to split the lens off the headlight is by using an oven, heatguns are dangerous for this work, it's too hot and too localised, you stand a good chance of marking or melting the lens.
Put your oven on it's lowest setting, 70 is fine for an elec oven. Put in one headlight, you can only work on one at a time so why heat 2. Leave for 10 mins, use a set of oven mitts and quickly lift the retaining clips from one edge, as you get one edges clips loose then pull on the glass, you'll find it seperates easily but if needed use a blunt screwdriver to pop it loose, the glue is like a black mastic, it seperates like hot cheese and gets very stringy, try and keep it off the glass if poss. Work round the light until the entire glass is free, if you take to long and the glue starts to harden up just throw the light back in the oven for 5 mins and keep working at it.
If you get the bonding glue on the glass use Tar Remover to disolve it. DON'T use a stanley knife like the How-To says, you run the risk of cutting yourself badly and also of scoring the glass which will ruin the look.
Keep as much of the glue as poss, when putting the light back together put the blob of glue in a glass of very hot water and it will soften up again, use it to reseal the light or you can use clear silicon sealant.
