Hi all,

Basically all i want to know is are all 12" subs the same size? as in this size:

Would the size A & B be the same size on like every 12" sub? or are they all subs different sizes?

Thanks

Nick

I doubt every sub is the exactly the same size, but i would of thought the difference would be minimal.
No1 will be able to answer you 100% because there are just so many different types and makes of subwoofers.

basically ive already got a sub an ive made an enclosure, now i want to get the sub hole in the enclosure so i can finish the enclosure off (seal it, cover it in carpet etc...) but the sub ive got isnt going to be the sub going in the enclosure an was wandering if, if i cut the hole to the size of the sub i have at the moment would the one im getting soon fit in the space when i get it.

Mounting Depths can be tottally different but a majority of your usual makes should be ok.

that looks like a Kenwood going off the motor size?

its not the depth that is the problem its the diameter "B" of the sub in the pic above

surely the sub itself will be basically the same (the speaker) but the depth and outer rim will change with every model as well as fixing holes.

so if you do cut out the holes it may fit but maybe not.

saying that sub boxes are sold to fit all subs or must and not just one sub so surely the holes you cut will fit? :?

dont take my word tho i new to all this ICE stuff lol

Generally all your Halfords Woofers wil all fit Prefab boxes.

id say 90% sure it should fit i bought a sub box prefabbed and my sub fitted in snugly no problem, however i did get it in a set and the box maybe was chosen for that specific sub diameter.

A and B vary by quite a lot depending on the manufacturer and model of sub. eg:
RE MX: A=13", B=11.5"
DLS Iridium: A=12.2", B=11.1"
DLS W312B: A=12.1", B=10.8"
