i believe you need an invertor (basically a plug socket in your car)

I got one of those cigarette adaptors for mine, and chopped the end off, and hooked it up to the ignition. :)

can you wire that to any live source??

I don't see why not. I done it the ignition, so it only came on when the car was on, to save power. It was hooked straight up to the battery before, and I unplugged it after every use, but it got tedious.

If I wired the invertor to the battery, and left the PS2 OFF, would it use much power?

can ya not wire it to a switch?? sure it wouldnt use power if it was off would it??

You could wire it to a switch, if you want, but I just figured ignition's easiest, as you only have to turn on the PS2 power then, not push/flick a switch, and then power on the PS2.
