It depends on what type of sound you want mate!

12" Subs give you a very puncy sound and 15" subs and a fairly deeper sound and hit the bass notes very well!

Each sub will have its output! Obviously the bigger Watt they are the more power they can take through the amplifier

So get a high powered amplifier around 2-3'000 watt to power whatever you are after!

They are a few people who know the upmost about ICE i believe Ryan knows a bit! if not people like GTC and Joel will pick up on this sooner or later :)

They'll give you a really technical advice

well i want a loud drownin bass sumt tht shecks the car 2 bits lol if you no what i mean tho its just things like what do i do 2 keep battery power what leads adapters extra power things like tht coz i cant see my battery running it all or will it lol i just dont no:dontknow:

SimonP
23-01-2008, 13:14
Ahh couldnt help you there!

I get all mine fitted by some ICE fitting guy!

I never saw him use any adapters for the battery though, just hooked the leading power wire up to the Battery and mines never died on me :)

Well the 2 subs ive got shake the car quite a bit and they arent very upgraded ones!

IF you have a post 2003/4 car (CANBUS system) then you will need an adaptor cable for the head unit. if you car was made before CANBUS, then you dont necessarily have to have an adaptor lead, but getting one makes fitting a little bit easier.
I wouldnt go for the cheap fusion stuff - i am borrowing a Fusion 12inch sub and amp combo from a mate at the moment, and the sound quality is pretty average.

well mines 06 facelift sxi so thought it would be easy fitting hu its just all the other stuff i know jack about i mean i no bout sytems n that its just components and tht

Gazza_DJ
23-01-2008, 13:41
you will have to get an adaptor then. it is very easy to fit, you just have to make sure you get the right lead! how much would you spend on door speakers? theres a lot of choice out there.

If I was you I wud leave all the gear you have expressed interest alone, including the H/U. DVD headunits are smart but with Ripspeed you WILL encounter problems. As far as I'm aware it doesn't have a removable fascia so it makes it a prime target for thieving lill *****. Secondly alot of ppl who have had that HU on here have said that it aint gr8, has broken, screen stops working etc etc.
With regards to your budget you can actually get your hands on a nice system that will makes your ears bleed, and can avoid cheap Halfords tat. Ppl like Coops and Ryan will advise you on the best route for your gear but I rly wud stay well away from the fusion stuff. With regards to battery, u prob won't need anything extra, just make sure u don't skip wen it comes to wiring and get a good 8 gauge kit to keep you solid.
Good websites to check out:
www.caraudiodirect.co.uk and www.caraudiosecurity.com
Components are a must rly and in order to get the best outta them they need to be amped. You will need adapters that cost bout £14 from halfords (thats the only thing you shud get from there) so that they fit in ur doorcards and then get a nice amp behind em along with crossovers

you seem to be sorted dont you?

power cable, rca's, distobution block, earth, remote lead.

i have 2 rcas i can sell you :look:

power into dizzy block, that gets split into two amps (one in fusion box, the other is FLI). ground both to chassis. remote lead from headunit into one amp, theninto the other. RCA's from headunit into amps....

sorted, yesum?

If you would feel more comfortable then yeah, pay someone else to do it. before that though, make a thread in your regional area asking if there is someone local who could give you a hand. Most people on here are top guys / girls and are willing to give a fellow member a hand with pretty much anything
