I have two options for the upfront entertainment in the corsa:-

1. Car Computer; £300
-1ghz, 256ram, 40gb hdd, gps, bluetooth, itunes etc.
-VGA Touchscreen installed in one of the 'custom dash installs' available in the sale section.
-Simple dab radio installed underneath to use when not on computer.

2. Double Din Radio, Clicky (http://http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/7060.html)

The Double DIN's nice, don't get me wrong, but it'll be nice to have a PC with all the music on.

If I could wire up a hard drive to the car, and plug it in with a USB, then the Double DIN'd be bliss!

That double din has a USB adaptor on the back, it says you can attach multiple usb devices, ie usb stick or even a hard drive.
So im sort of swaying to that now seen as its an all in one and so much easier to install

My Double DIN had a USB on the side, and it's alright. It'd just be a case of getting a hard drive, and having it connected up to the car's electronics.

Works alright with an iPod, so hard drive would be ideal.

hard drive built in to the puter mate ;) norm 40GB but can upgrade it whenever you want. also plug a wireless card in so you can connect to ya home network and sync car to ur pc not needing to transfer physically as it'll do it when you turn the car on ;) awsome

(sorry told you i was looking into this :D)

How much are you guys looking at for the pc's. i was also thinking about this. found a site earlier that does them for under £180 without a screen but they are easy enough to get cheap anyway right?

ones i were looking at are $2100 so around £1,000 everything fully built in to a double din slot

thats the one i was just looking at, seems alright and it wouldnt be too much to get the screen and custom dash thing for it would it?

Thats pretty much the same one i was looking at, but its manufactured in england.
it was £150 ish with 40gb, 256ram, wireless, gps, bluetooth, and a custom opertaing system. Then about £130-150 for a decent vga touchscreen.
After all the wiresing, housing for the screen, and another headuint to play radio. its cheaper to by the double din

I was looking into the car computer thing, and i was looking at PicoITX form factor boards. i might look into it again once SSD's are more economical.
