just been to get this sony headunit i had my eye one but he told me it wouldnt work with steering wheel controls and said no sony ones would as they have aux in on the front and not the back?! is he pulling my leg or what? there was the adapter harness there and the patch lead, but no aux in in the back of the headunit for the patch lead?

its this one if its any help, help would be appreciated asap as id like to get it done tomorow on my day off!

yes that one will work with the controls
but
you wont be able to use the rotary comander that comes with it if you got the steering controls plugged in!

no
if you look at that link
if you buy it from halfords
it comes with a "rotary commander" its like a little joy stick that you put near your wheel to control the HU
but cos youve got steering controls you dont realy need it
your controls will work fine with the autoleads adaptors and hu!

oh that is spot on, you are a savior! so if i buy that, i need the autoleads vaux adapter which is 29.99 and then the patch lead for 4.99? and steering wheel controls will definatly work?

i did it with mine the other week
path lead goes into back of hu
vaux adaptor goes into iso lead and then into patch leed
and magic they all work ;)

apparently there isnt a headphone jack on the back of the headunit though, or will there definatly be one and he just doesnt have a clue. his words were 'the aux in is on the front so it doesnt have a headphone jack on the back'. i didnt want to argue as i know **** all!

its not a headphone jack
it looks like one
but as it says on the halfouds pge
it comes with the rotary comander, and that pluges into the same 3.5mm jack
trust me mate its got one on the back!

i misread that page, doesnt actually say on the spec that it does have a remote connection!
so dont think you can get them to work with that HU mate
!

oh man! which bit did you misread like? thats the one i fancy tbh, dont wanna spend much more really. boo

it said remote comander i thought it said rotary comander
hence it comes with a remote control and not the imput for steering controls

just ask the guy to bring the head unit out open it and show you, there should be a lil input hole which is baby blue, small hole behind the head unit for you to fit it in, if not then you cannot connect it.
