Which oil?

I am doing my first oil change on my car soon and was wondering what the consensus was regarding the brand/type of oil I should use. I have always previously used Castrol Magnatec 10 40. Seeing as Vauxhall recommend this viscosity it seems a very easy decision but thought I would see what others are using.

I would use Magnatec. I think that's what Vx used when I had mine serviced last month.

Only ever spec'd it on my cars at service time. Best going as far as I'm concerned.

A change every 6,000 miles or 6 monthd for me :thumbs:

Magnatec 4 me.. my corsa drank loadz of oil in the 1st years of its life... seems to have calm down now. just thought I'd share that with u's all :lol:

I'm putting Vauxhall semi-synthetic in my Corsa - 1400 miles and it's used about a litre of oil so far. I had the oil left over from my Astra (which just leaked all over the place). My dealer says semi-synthetic is what they put in at the factory.
