Sony, panasonic or canon.

If you get one of those brands you wont go far wrong.

13.6MP is completely wasted on a compact camera tbh!

Oh, and Panasonic's Lumix TZ series are very nice, and have a 10x optical zoom and a wide angle Lieca lense. ;)

Its not all about megapixels.

The quality of the lense is more important.

Exactly. MP's above 7 - 8MP is onyl really needed if you want to do some serious editing.

And i missed the Kane banning escapade while i was away

Lol @ Joel being banned.

I agree with the MP/Lens thing. Just because it's got a high MP, doesn't mean the quality will be any good!

get a canon 350d with a sigma 50-300mm lens and a canon 18-55mm lens and you wont need anything else. and you can still get great pics of your speedo and send them to people lol.

PS i have CS3 ;) well worth it. (the new photoshop) and have a contact working on CS4 for me.

dont bother with illegal copies of CS4. they are very buggy, as they are still in the beta stages of development.

heard good things about the panasonic lumix ones

also the canon cameras are very good but there not as slim or sexy as the sony or panasonic etc

I can definately vouch for the Lumix TZ3, as i now have one.

image quality is really good for a compact!
