Monthly car photography contest

Taken from Corsa-D, which has become quite successful, and there's numerous entries added.

The story behind this thread is that every month there is a subject chosen, and you have to take that subject into consideration, and take a snapshot of your car around that subject.

April subject - Interior

Rules:

The subject for the month is chosen by the winner of the previous month, so if some one wins two months in a row, they get to choose two subjects. Once the winner is announced by the poll, they will think of the next subject, and make a new thread for the entries in there, stating the subject.

The subject is usually chosen for the 1st of each month, and the entries will be allowed to be entered up until the 21st of that month (Usually give or take a few days, to allow late entires to be submitted).

Once the 21st comes around, the person who won the previous month's competition will then make a seperate thread with a poll, and all of the entries will be added onto the poll. The poll will run for 7 days, so everyone will vote for their favourite picture, and when they're announced, they get to choose the next subject.

The votes are made public, so that you can't vote for yourself, as that's just cheating...

Please keep all general banter about the competition in the monthly threads, and once the new subject's been chosen, post your pictures in this thread, and talk about it in here too. Please keep the individual threads for talking about that month's entries.

There is a rule about photoshopping. You are allowed to use it to do post-processing, such as changing the contrast, colour, curves etc, but it's not allowed for things such as photoshopping your car onto a different background, or to put something onto the picture, revolving around the subject, unless that it part of the subject chosen by some one.

Please try to keep the photo's to a 640x480 size, to save re-sizing them for the monthly thread, and to keep with the forum rules, so it doesn't slow the forum down, or have to make people scroll across the screen.

One entry per person too!

If you wish to change your entry you have posted, please edit your post, so it contains the new picture, or delete the old one, or PM myself to change it/delete it, to keep the thread smooth, and easy to find the month's nominee's!

As an extra rule from Corsa-D, as there's so many people on here, the opening will run until the 21st, or when there's 25 entries, which ever comes soonest, as you can only make a maximum number of 25 poll entries.

Yep, that's the one!

For example, the current Corsa-D one is Interior, so people post the most imaginative pictures of their interior, and then people will vote for what they think's the best. Either based on the photo, or interior, it's up to them.

Had some things like "Landmark" etc, so you take a picture of your car, and a landmark.

Just a thing to improve photography skills, and imagination really.

I want to improve my photography but only have a boggo digital camera to take them with so some tips on using macro and stuff like that would be great for me :D

But yeah, could have a subject on Macro, so people take the best macro shot of their car etc.

Well, just to get the ball rolling, I'll start, and then the winner of this month's will choose the next subject. This month's subject is interior.

ive just noticed theres a photography section lol, i remember when we had a thread about wanting one and doing a photography competition but never went through with it, glad we have one now tho i will definitly be interested in this :yippe:

another thing, do pictures have to be completely standard yes? ie no photoshopping to blur background or bring out colour etc.?

That is correct mate. Just to give it a bit more time for everyone to get their entries in, and stuff.

You're allowed to do photoshopping etc, but aslong as it isn't like shopping your car onto a different backdrop etc. Curves, blur, and other stuff is fine.

Updated the rules a bit too, to save me making threads all the time too.

The winner of this month's poll will create a new thread, and choose the subject in there for the entries. Then they will also make the poll when the 21st comes around, make the votes public, and let it run for 7 days.

Then once the next winner is announced, that'll happen again etc.

Loving the photography, my issue is, why is a photography competition allowed when a photoshop one isn't?

Because the people who looked after the photoshop one couldn't be bothered with it, as one month, there was about three entries, and that was it.

Depends on who's voting, I guess. Some people might vote because of the idea of it, some might vote on the quality of the picture with lighting etc, all depends, I guess.
