me being a noob i wired up my ps2 power inverter to the wrong points on the ciggy lighter (+ to - and - to +) and it started smoking.

i took the cover off the inverter to see the board and 2 bits were a bit melted.

i then put the wires to the correct points, and then everything worked and no smoke.

just wondering if everyone thinks its going to be safe to use it?

merci

its kind of a risk you woul dhave to decie on realy, if you are that worried that your car will explode, then get a new inverter. otherwise just give it a go.

when u say 2 bits were melted, can u explain further.
if its working now, id probably use it still. however what id do if i were u is use ur ps2 with u in the car for a couple hours, see if u smell anything funny or if it cuts out.

im not too great with the technical terms, there are 2 small cylindrical things connected to the board and they looked to be slightly melted on the plastic.

not too sure what to do tbh
