help needed please

i am new to this site didnt plan on my first post to ask for help lol i am trying to fit a headunit to an 06 plate sxi+ i have got the adapter conected it but then found i need to conect two other wires a red one (mains)and a orange wire(illumination) but dont no what wires to connect these to any ideas? pics would be good to guide me through this 8)

i have tried wiring this to the mfd screen and it worked but didnt turn off wen i turned my engine off and ideas what else i could wire it to was going to wire it to the cigarete lighter but would this work if when i turn the ignition on n off because my screen wont go back in as it is set to wen the powers turned off to go back in?

u need to change the red and yellow wires over aswell

the reason for this is so that the stereo retains its momory

in my oppinion if you just connect them to the pos wire on the connector it will trick the system into thinking its connected properly thats what i have done to be able to watch dvds

The red wire is your ignition live, so when you switch on your ignition it will switch the headunit on. You can attach it to the mfd but the best place is the cig lighter or the electric windows if you want it on the first turn of the key. The orange wire is used for illumination, so when you use the dimmer switch to dim the cabin lights it will also dim the lights on your hu. I personally didnt use this, but its up to you. nice 1 il wire it to the cig lighter as still didnt work how i wanted it to wiring it to the pos on the wire loom of the headunit and i wont wire the illumination one because my headunit dims itself in the day anyway tar :yes:
