Heathrow Viewing

My dad's into his planes atm, and we were thinking of going to Heathrow Airport or Manchester Airport, now i know these have Viewing area i would just like to know is it on a Terminal Or Anything, ive heard that Heathrow Viewing is Closed, does anyone know of this?

The manchester viewing point is at the side of the runway near a maintenance area. No way near the Terminal. There is the front end of a DC10 there, a stripped out 147 and of course Concorde. Plus toilets and a snack/souveniour shop

most people sit around the permiter road down at heathrow, but one of the hotels around have a stand...

I take pics of my car at the end of one of the runways in the Hatton Cross Underground station car park, Get alot of plane spotters furthur along the road in the field, Its on the A30 main road and is always pretty busy with people.

Also on the northern perimiter road you see people by the Renaissance Hotel i think its called

There used to be a viewing place on top of Terminal 2, i remember my dad taking me there when i was well young but i dont think its there anymore!

Ah cheers mate, its just something that Me and My Dad are into, he use to take me to Birmingham as a kid, and enjoyed it ever since, it does get abit boring after a while.

Heathrow viewing area was closed a while ago due security. BUT as Matt said there's still a few places to go and get good photo's, around the airport though you'll eventually be turfed off by security. :roll:

rated i would of thought east mids would be better /easier to get to > tip in my youth you used to be able to get right at the end of the runway"just like the films" go towards available car in donnington as you pass the museum there is a row of cottages then it should be first right, then up and over the hill to the end < its a cool place to just chill specially on a warm summers eve!
