thanks mate, i was looking foward to seeing a reply from you. Any tips or positive critisism for the above shots?

Hmm, let's see. For the first two, I think maybe a mess around with curves, to make the lighting on it better, as the rocks below the bottom half of the picture look quite dark, so you can raise the lightness of them up, and the light parts down.

The rest are fine, I think. Have you done any sort of HDR stuff on the last picture? Looks slightly modded, but if not, would look even better modded.

yeah your right, ill have a wee go at that now. Only just getting the hang of photoshop so might take a while! lol

The last one hasnt been touched much, just altered the brighness and colour a small tad. I dont know how to do the hdr thing yet. I tried the tutorial thing that you posted in the other photography thread, but mines came out a mess when i tried it, was a while ago tho. Might give it a try

What I find best is when you're in curves, the line in the bottom left, adjust that, and then adjust it in the top right too.

The bottom left is for the dark colours, to make them darker or lighter. The top bits are for the light bits, to make them light, or dark.

yeah i had a go with curves, they look alot better now, changed a bit of the shadows/highlights as well. im ok with that, its more the HDR stuff that i cant seem to get the hang of. But practice makes perfect, so ill give it another bash

Keith Fusco
25-03-2008, 17:33
Yeah, practice does make perfect! Took me a while to get things right, how I like them, but I've still got loads of practicing to do!

She works in Paisley. Yeah definetly do the photography and printing side. She does photography on the side too and you will always get business. Think she was looking into printing business as well.
