ALpine components...

so my brother gave me a set of alpine speakers, and i think the are components(im not too sure what that really means). anyway he gave me speakers + tweeters, and i think the speaker size was like 5 1/4 inches. would they fit the stock speaker mounts? and (once i find the correct model number for yall) are these gone be all that much better than the stocks?

oh, one thing i noticed about these speakers is that they take a connection and then the tweeters connect to them. is this right?
