I've only used AutoGlym Aqaua Wax. It's alright to be honest. With that you spray it on when the cars wet, then buff it up then wipe it off.

"Wax it wet" by any chance? I've used it for some time as a really quick wax for shine if it looks like rain and I haven't got chance to wax properly. I just spray it on before drying with a drying towel.

I use something similar 'Detailing spray'. I use it inbetween proper washes or when i dont have time to wax like mark says.

Also mark, sorry to hijack this thread, but what is the best treatment for egg? Obviously apart from washing it off straight away? Any lasting effects?

Detailing spray is purely for shine and will add no protection what so ever. Saying that though I can't imagine the spray wax adding much protection either.

As for the egg, it depends if it's done anything to the paintwork? Best method is the wash it off asap (even if it's 1am), polish then wax the panel.

its not wax it wet, cant remember its name, got it from halfords but its not on the site anymore. I use it after i try dry the car , how many pieces of chamois are u suppose to use to dry ? i got 1 but after just doing the bonnet its soaking wet therfore useless for the rest of the car :s

also most of the time after i wash it with car shampoo and rinse it off with the hose the car looks more dirty than before once it dries , arghh!

Chamois are supposed to be wet when you use them, soak in water then wring it out before use. then just repeat when you need to.

with regards to spray wax, use a little and wax on/wax off,lol

1. To apply the wax, spray on and then even out with a foam applicator or a newish pad from meguiars called Even Coat Applicator.
2. Drying towels are the answer have a look on www.cleanyourcar.co.uk (http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk) or www.elitecarcare.co.uk (http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk)
3. Halfords are good for Autoglym or Megs, any other decent range will need to be bough online.
4. It's because you're not cleaning it properly and/or drying it quickly. Tap water will create water marks because of the chlorine.
5. Rubbing a cloth over the wax to remove it is buffing off.

I found an alright spray wax the other day.

Its really cheap, and gives a good shine, really easy to apply and remove.

DONT knock it until you try it!
