speedo and EM Light/stereo Problems!

Wondering if anyone was clued up on this;
Fitted my aftermarket HU today and already had sub/amp wired in and all works well. however on my victory lap of macdonalds drive-thru i noticed my speedo was at 0 and my EngMan. light was on.
Checked Fuses- nowt, restarted a few times - still nowt, nipped down to a mates garage for a quick diag and came up the vss/speed sensor was faulty?!!!?!
done a tad bit of research and found out that the cdr2005 had speed volume adjust and the new hu f**** around with it.
anyone else had this prollem and how on earth am i gunna sort it out?!!?!
any help will be much apreciated coz i certainley dont wna standard hu again!

sounds like the vss (speed pulse) has gone missing hence the error code

unplug the hu and it will clear. The vsc is on the bottom power block as you look at the plug its one of the far left pins (4 or 8 ) iirc. what make hu is it and are you using any other adapters???

Double check it and from the info i have its pin 8 if anything is connected to this pin apart from the vss it will confuse the ecu/clocks. make sure nothing is conected to pin 8 or if the new hu has gps etc it may need to be configed for the vx vss (some where in the menu's)

yea my 4 and 8 are both connected i got that lg on sale in halfords lac3700r if i cut my vss wire will it work then? i dont reely wanna run me sub n amp off standard hu!

if you cut it cut it an 1-2 inches from the block so you can re connect if need be. theres noorm a wiring diagram on to of the standard hu so you can double check it before doing anything


iirc the vss is on pin 8

yep cdr 500 but its all iso so the 1st and 2nd bloks are the same double and triple checked also dug the same info out the other day for another member

i think i made a mistake with yours its pin 5 i had a fliped image i was working off :(
