hey i got a decent amp and sub set up with sum nice 6X9s but seein as ive only had the corsa a week if tht i dont want to rip it apart to install them...

i also dont fancy having the body work of the car shake like F*&k n loosen bits n bobs if it does.

is it possible tio wire a standard car amp and sub with the 6X9s to work with a standard 24v power socket i kno it takesa 12 v battery but tht would die quickly seeing as it wouldnt be gettin a charge

i also want to modify the whole set to basically be all in one box with the speakers facing the top (exposed) and the sub on the back with an mp3 aux port or cd player preferably a line in so i could use a pc for example.

has anyone tried this or am i wasting my time?

if u canfind a power converter with 12v and the same amps as a car battrey..

if its just a small amp for 6x9 then u could get a voltage plug and wire as

12v + to amp + and remote
12v - to the negative on the amp

and will work i did this on my pc

By the sounds of it your equipment will struggle to make a Reliant Robin fall to bits, let alone a Corsa.
Generally car audio equipment doesnt sound that great in the home, and putting it all into one box will just sound horrible.

IIRC you'll need an isolating transformer that steps down 240-12v. That way you shouldn't have any groundloop problems as the earth on the plug is connected to the neutral in a similar way that your car will use a false (chasis) earth connected back to the neutral terminal on the battery.

well was only wary due to my old car "polo" got quite loose to putm it mildy lol n i have interior shaking. i have a 1000w sub 2 420w 6X9s and 280 amp lol so i aint gettin full power out of wahti got but it was just a basic set up i bought off my mate a while back.

ok so the in house thing was a bad idea how hard is it to change the back speakers i nthe corsa mine sound terrible n if i could jus swap them with the 6X9s id be hapy

no offence but I'm struggling to see why you would fork out for ice for your car NOT to fit them in your car

if its jus the beat you can hear they wil most deffinetly go in the car

and by the way off topic but how much is it to tint the back three windows?

If you sound deaden the car properly then rattles and such shouldn't be a problem.

ummmmm i'm about to install my 6th sound system into my corsa tomorrow (every few months i change everything lmao) and believe me i've had some fairly serious bass in my car and i've not sound deadened it yet although i plan to in the summer.
my car rattles like hell when you stand outside it but thats normal and it hasn't caused any trouble whatsoever nor have i found anything to be loose as a result!
by the sounds of it you've got a halfords special setup so it really shouldn't be a problem.
throw away the 6x9's tho! just bass in the back and mids and tweets up front! speakers in the back just mess up the sound stage and imaging etc
