do i need an amp???

hi,
just bought a pair of alpine type R 6x9's, just connected them up and they sound reallllllllllllllllllllll quiet even when i turn the volume right up, is this because i dont have an amp?? if so what amp would anyone suggest?? (they r 300 watts each)

ii found that with my ^x9 befor i amped them and now there well loud.

yea but ive jst bought them lol. but i think the guy who had the car b4 me ahd 6x9's because theres the speaker cables for the standard speakers and sum 4 seperate ones. so would i connect the seperate ones to the amp and then use some more wiring to connect the 6x9's from the amp????

U can buy my Amp n 2 6x9s for £60 mate. then just sell the 6x9s if you dont want em :)
