So heres my dilema.

I'm looking to install a sub and amp to the Hu i have atm. So i read martin's old thread, and he advised me on getting the speaker to RCA to speaker adaptor. Cheers btw.

So what do i need to do exactly ?

Buy sub and amp wiring etc...
Buy Rca Convertor

and now the bit me and a mate, whos pretty got a pretty good setup and knows his stuff, werent sure about.

Would i need a 4-channel amp?

2 bridge'd for the sub
and the other two for the speakers?

so running the two rear speakers to the amp. attatching the sub and thats it?

But wouldnt i lose the use of the back speakers? any help?

and if this doesnt make sense it's because im trying to remember what he said lol

nah the standard hu's dont have outputs, so u av to mess about slicin into the wiring harness and puttin an adapter in so ya can plug ur amp in....imo you might aswell buy a new headunit, get better sound quality anyway!!

could i not just use one of these?

"This is very useful if you want to fit a subwoofer on to the existing system, simply connect this in parallel with your rear speakers, this will not effect the performance of the original speakers."

how true?

True but as mentioned above the quality of the sound going into the amp will not be very good. Crap in = crap out

^^^ ive just got that converter(btw, 7 quid from motorworld!!) not got round to fittin it, i agree that u wont get as good sound quality as an aftermarket HU but if ur on a budget u cant go wrong.
