I have used it a couple of times. im definately not an expert in any way though

it is a good bit of kit though - its basically a digital darkroom for developing your snaps!

Ditto. Been told about it a while back, but never bothered with it, as I had Photoshop.

yeah, theres nothing that Lightroom can do that photoshop cant, but if you literally just want to develop your pictures (no major editing) then photoshop is a bit overkill. Lightroom is more lightwieght, and its pretty decent at managing and backing up your photo's as well. you can set it to copy all your photo's from your camera to your HDD when you plug the camera in and open LightRoom, and you can also tell it to copy them to an External device as well for back up.
Its much more intuitive than photoshop as well. It all depends on your needs at the end of the day

Cool. :) Some random photographer I met when I was out one day got on talking about it too.

I prefer to do managing, and backing up photo's myself, which is one of the main reasons I didn't use it. I copy all mine from the camera to HDD anyway when I plug it in on the Windows scanner option thing, and then whack a copy on my MAC too, so I have two sets, and usually edit on the MAC.

I'll still give it a bash though.

Yeah it does seem to be doing the trick for me, but at the end of the day I'm sure I'll get photoshop too. Worth a test run though!
