K...done before but i dont get it....(wiring)

righty ive spent the last hour reading through past threads about wiring amps and subs etc......basically my uncle gave me a sub...with built in amp...its from asia #(therfore no instructions etc)....what i dont understand is...bear with me...
1) i power the 12v input from battery..
2) earth to bare metal under rear seats..
3) rca from head unit..is that it...

im really confused over battery...cus mine says 12v on it...and like running it from battery...is that okay? or would that be a constant drain on battery?....me and electronics dont mix well so explain please...cheers guys :oops:

there should also be another connection that is called either a rem or remote and that connects to the H\U. This is normally a blue wire, this is a signal wire that tells the amp to turn on. This is so there is not a constant drain on the battery

its simple really 2 power wires, 1 remote wire, 2 single wires
