I am planning on making my own boot build - nothing too fancy, i just want to have everything secured down, and i want to be able to remove it and change the amp / sub quite easily. I have a rough idea on how im going to do that, so we needn't worry about that bit yet
What materials are best for boot builds? and what thickness would be best? If i used MDF, would i need to brace it with 2x2 wood or something?
this is my sub - http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_product-22570.htm (no, i didnt pay anywhere near that price  )
and my amp - http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-jbl-gto2060_p-22565.htm
I am thinking of going for a sealed box as i want the sub to sit nicely in the right hand corner of the boot, and the amp is going on the left hand side leaving room in the middle for stuff.
Any more info needed, just say :)

Quick sketch of the sort of think im thinking of:

Except symmetrical.
12mm MDF will be fine for the main base of the build and then you want atleast 20mm mdf for the sub box (or Birch Ply if you have a bit more cash). Though looking at the shape you may want to fibre glass it instead.
Also is there any particular reason you want the sub on the right? as you can get more space behind it putting it on the left.

No reason for the right hand side really - i could have them on opposite sides that wouldnt be a problem at all. If it will be extra effort for the shape, i would make it angular so i can keep it all MDF / Birch i think!
Yeah by putting it on the left you can build the sub box to use the volume in the corner, where as the fuel tank is on the left so you won't have as much space to play with.
12mm MDF for the box is fine, just make sure you use sound deadening otherwise it will rattle like a biatch...especially the tyre well. i spent about £350-£400 on the build excliding the HU. thats including fabrication, sound deadening, wiring and neons

righto, roughly what sort of volume would i be looking at?

Cool, what stuff did you use to deaden yours?
second skin damplifier. ill be ordering some more 2mz tho, i took my spare tyre out the other week, and from outside the car, u can hear it vibrating when deep base kicks in

You want 18mm for the sub box mate, 12mm for the rest of the build will be fine.
Make sure the boot is deadened before you start building
