I just rewired my sub (Vibe CBR12) because I wanted to hide the wiring behind the panels and etc.

so anyway I connect up the wires to the amp and for some reason the sub/amp doesn't turn on.

I unintentionally put the head of a screwdriver in between the 12vPOWER input and the REMOTE input, making it touching both screws, only then, sub/amp comes on. When I take the screwdriver off the screws it turns off again.

Also the remote wire starting getting VERY hot and later when I lifted up my seat (where I ran the wire through), some of the outter rubber parts had melted.

Anyway know whats the problem here?

Thanks.

Definalty a remote problem.

Take the HU out and check the connection to the remote output behind there. Then run a new wire and see if it works. If it does, replace the old one. Job done

Cheers, appreciated mate. I thought it would be that but just wanted reassurance.

Try running the remote wire from your cigarette lighter. Thats what i done with mine because my HU was crappy and didnt have anywhere for the remote wire to go, works perfectly
