Theyre all the same crap knocked up in a factory in Hong Kong regardless of whether theyre the £40 kits or the £140 kits.

The only difference between them is the packaging and the warranty offered.

Personally I'd go middle ground and buy off HIDs direct.

so would i be best just gettin some from hong kong on ebay then, cos to be honest i wouldnt mind spending £41 on HIDS :D

14-05-2008, 12:58
well, mine has unlimited warranty, thats why i spent the extra £100, but mine seem bluer than everyone elses 8k, so there must be some sort of diffrerence... not all maybe made in a ching chong factory...

well to be honest for the money i spent on them i dont expect them to last forever, after all i wont be keeping the corsa forever soo as long as they last a couple of years and look good that will be kool. are they easy to install? and is it true i wil have to get my lights aligned again?

i dunno about couple of years... they are pips to install, all you need is a 25mm hole saw and a drill... you dont really have to align them, you will see when they are on how "pissed" they are and you can adjust em yourself (if they seem to blinding the person infront that is)...

mine are tilted alot, blinds every pedestrian on the pavement. but when i mot'd them, they said they were perfecto!

Should have to but can get them checked at an MOT testing station if you wish.

I adjusted mine down slightly once i'd fitted them.

Oddjob

MOT testing station. You need a beam checker.

steviedude100
17-05-2008, 01:09
how much should i be expecting this to cost?

Oddjob
17-05-2008, 01:17
Between £5-10 I reckon.

steviedude100
17-05-2008, 01:23
even better :D what will they do, change the beam from inside the car?

Oddjob
17-05-2008, 01:49
Yeah they shove a large box infront of the headlights, the beam pattern shows on the backplate inside the box. They then adjust the pattern using the adjusting screws until it's back where it should be. 20 mins job at the most if there way out.

well...i got my kit today and i am VERY impressed!!!! i installed the kit in no time at all. with quite a bit of experience with ripping a car to bits i no where every nut bolt and washer is :D soo....

the HIDS ordered from china, super fast postage
well packed
good build quality
price
the amount of light given off SUPERB

everyone should have HIDS they are amazin!!!! im now gna strip the car off and install them on my full beam also because the light given off from that is poo!!!! and ive also got some 6 LEDS sidelights comin as the standard sidelights are rubbish and look like a candle in the corner.

does anyone want me to start installing HIDs in their lights i could supply and fit for a reasonable price!!!
think i should advertise?

Oddjob
21-05-2008, 23:49
You'll be pulling the sidelights out in a month or so Stevie as the multiple LED sidelights are very prone to failing. You want a good set, get a set of Luxeon ones, they are almost as bright as your Xenons

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v451/Oddjob323/DSCF0277.jpg

Pic of my car with the Xenons lit, I also have dip and main Xenons :) the Luxeon bulb is the right hand one, colour match is very close.

partridge_88
21-05-2008, 23:52
I can back up Oddjob on this one, the ones he's sent me seem to be a lot better than the multiple LED ones, I've gone through 2 sets in as many months of them.

i had these for a few months, until they broke.

i think the reason they broke was because of water damage to the ballasts, so if i was you i would wrap them in something to stop them from getting wet.

professionally installed by myself, wrapped in a carrier bag....altho i was worried about the balast getting hot but i had them on for about 5 mins and the balast wasnt hot at all to be honest :D

The left hand ones are £2.50 a set, the Luxeons are £5 a set. Both prices include P&P. Unlike E-Bay crap I guarentee mine, I've sold loads now and haven't had one complaint or one return at all.

In fact the ONLY one I've replaced was someone who said one was blueish and one was purplish and he didn't like that, I sent him another FOC and he matched one up with the new one. That sort of service isn't what you'll get from E-Bay.

i will bare that in mind if these bulbs go tits up, but they have come highly recommended from hoops so i will see how these go, and if they are crap you will be gettin £5 very shortly :D

This is a Luxeon in a facelift headlight, look at the hint of blue it's giving off. Very similar effect to a decent set of Xenon bulbs.

Oddjob
22-05-2008, 00:20
They are 100% legal. They are so bright and the white is so clean they can appear blue in certain conditions. It's the same effect that HID bulbs give.

I'd say 6k is the closer match, the higher you go the more purple HIDs look.

Oddjob

If your asking can you get a H1 HID kit so you can have Xenon main beams then yes they are readily available. Search E-Bay there are loads on there.

22-05-2008, 20:20
LOL I just sold Hoops 2 sets of Luxeons.

Was going to stick them in the number plate lights at the back and interior lights, but now ive seen the facelift light above -!

Oddjob
22-05-2008, 20:44
Mmm never knew the rear number light was a 501. Learn something new every day. TBH I've never checked as I don't own a Corsa and my daughters cars light is fine or I might have checked.
