Very uncommon with compact camera's these days. the only one i can think of off the top of my head (keeping to current / new camera's) is the IXUS 80.

Would you say this camera is worth £70?

Considering you are getting a few extra's as well, yeah definately worth 70 quid. Is £70 as much as you want to spend? at the moment the Olympus X835 is pretty cheap: http://www.dixons.co.uk/product.php?sku=238894 and its £99 in store as well. THe olympus is definately the better camera, well worth £95-£99.

£70 isnt as much as i would pay but i dont want to go daft as i dont want to be taking photography serious, this camera is just for taking pictures for fun.

The olympus one looks decent like but I'm off to get the Pentax one today.

Fair enough. Remember the Pentax could cost you more in the long run, due to it using AA batteries - rechargable AA's dont last 5 minutes, and proper AA's will do you about 100 photo's before they run out. the regchargables in Lithium battery camera's (like the olympus) will last you around 250 - 400 ish pictures, and providing you take care of the battery by using proper charge cycles the battery will last years as well.

 fool :P

the only reason the older compacts still had the viewfinder was because the LCD screens were **** in sunlight. the newer cameras have decent antiglare screens, so they perform well in direct light. some (like my TZ3) have a 'high power' mode that basically whacks up the backlight for use in brightly lit areas.

anyone have any ideas where i can get the tri-pod for this?

Gazza_DJ
22-05-2008, 14:28
Its just the normal tripod hole isnt it? Any camera shop will have one, as will retailers like comet, currys etc. or order one online.

Paul_Safc

So any tri-pod will fit?

And has anyone got any sites/forums with basic photography tutorials to get me started :D

My little cousin bought a S5700, and it's pretty good. I used to own the S5600, but the 700's loads better. Not as big as you'd expect either.
