View Full Version : A few boxing pictures...
A mate had a boxing match and his coach asked me to take a few snaps, I got carried away and took quite a few but here's some i liked. I'm quite happy with the pics, they're never going to be spot on when its your first attempt though, so don't be too harsh with the comments

To me they look a bit over-exposed and the last one could do with a crop / be deleted lol
Might post some more up later

Lookin good
Im new to this myself lol but as i said nice shots
Was your mate the one thats bleeding ?
not overexposed mate. in fact exposure is really nice. maybe a little too saturated, but i think the contrast of the black with the high saturation works well. if anything i'd of said you might of been a little too high up for it, would of been better being at a similar level to the ring, but i don't know a lot about sports photography so may be wrong

I had the chance of three spots, ringside, in a raised open window, or on a raised platform, same level as the ring.
Next time i think i'll go ringside, I went for the window, as I had a very good view of what was going on, took a 200mm lens, just to make sure i'd get the right pics :)

Cropped image at an ISO of 1600.... thats why it's so grainy.

great bit of photojournalism, just too saturated, saturation looks good on everything but there skin and especially there faces, other than that, i see a photojournalist in our mist.

Love the lighting from the arena. Nice snaps!
Thanks bud, the local paper got in contact with the coach. One of the pictures is going to be used in the paper :) Which i'm chuffed about!
