I recently bought a 2005 corsa c sxi barnd new. My CD broke and when they put a new one in they had a job fitting it because the radio code is stored on the ecu on the 2005 models. So what will i do if I want to fit a no standard head unit :shock:

Should be fine with aftermarket hu, as you dont need the radio code to make it work mate.

If the Radio Code is stored on the ECU, this could do 1 of 2 things?

Render the Stereo useless unless in that viechle (no ability to sell if changing!)

Enable another corsa 2005 driver to steal a factory h/u from another corsa, and use their code?

i wud hav thought the h/u wud store a copy of its own code sumwhere in the h/u so it can compare it 2 the ecu code wen connected up :?

In theory it should work in 1/9999 cars though lol

Oh well guess I will just store my CD player if I change it...
