Right, i never make new threads orless they are needed, ands with this it is definately going to be needed. Have to set my system up but not quite sure what im doing, so dont want to blow anything. Im going to ask if ppl plz plz plz wnt have their own lil convo's in here as i dont want it to be a 10 page thing where you have to search for everything.

Right, firstly i need to connect my Cap to the battery. So am i right in thinking that the power from the battery goes to the +ive on the power cap?

Then i have two Amps, so will i be ok having both Amps connected to the Cap?

Thanks lads

Rob

my RCA has 3 leads not two :? a teeny weent one in the middle, taking a guess that this is the Remote?

Because im using two amps i actually have 4 RCA's that need plugging in, so its a bit of a beach, iv just bought the Avic x1R so will this have the adequate connections?

Need to buy a crimper and some of the crimping bits then i think i may be done, fingers crossed.

The third wire is your remote as you guessed mate. It saves you sending another wire through the car.

I don't see why 2 sets of RCA's is a problem, my HU has 3 on the back as standard, so it's simple really.

Dunno about the AVIC unit as it aint Alpine, so I'm not interested. What you wanna know mate. I understand ICE nearly as good as the rest of a C and being an electrical engineer, wires are easy to work with.

Well how's it nice??? IT's not. Therefore logic dictates that no nice things = not nice. Simple and logical. Oh, and it's Pioneer

which 6 disc changer u got? its probs the easiest bit to fit coz u just mount it, and plug the wires in at each end, probs a thick black lead and the rca's

u dnt nd 2 mate just pfeed under the sills then unders the panel untill u reach the rear seats, lift these up and just feed it through underneath, then connect to ur amp in the boot.sorted.its not as hard as u think its just time consuming

Hello,

right, come to the Front comps now and im a lil stuck. How has everyone got there wires up to there comps?

Im amping them to an Amp in the boot, so got the wires to the front and its all sorted, but how do i get the wires to the speakers?

Also how do i fit the uprated tweeters? :look:

cheers

Tweeters run off the crossover on the components.

Macca
20-06-2005, 16:17
yea i know that, but they are bigger so just wondering how to fit them in :???:

think i may have sorted the wiring for the speakers, If all my sounds are being Amped, am i still going to need the block of wires that come standard for the original CD? As im not using the original speakers, just wondering if i cut the wires from the original speaker if it will cock things up in the long run when i fit the head unit?

Cheers

Rob

Ah right, I need to know this. Ka$h you have Type S Comps dont you? How did you fit the tweeter in the existing place?

ka$h

Er.... unclip existing ttweeters and sponge padding and clip new ones in place. They fit the same holes.

EVB

Mine wont go in the same hole. Just pop back out again.

i pulled the clips out from the old tweeters, the ones that hold them in, had a bolt through the back of the tweter then just screwed it into the door, works a treat, kept the sponge in there aswell.

seem to be all wired up now i think, the Pioneer came today aswell so overall pretty chuffed,

Although it wont be till Sept/October that i get to even hear a tune coming out of it :(
