Derelict and abandoned photography.

Anybody done this. Me and Brad (Brad Mole) are going out later to an abandoned farmhouse up by Newcastle airport to give it a try. Ive seen some brilliant shots from all over the planet and im wondering if anyone of here has tried it?

im not sure i know what you mean. do you just mean photography of old buildings. or are you going for the end of the world stuff?

both are really effective if you get good contrast

both are cool. but derelict buildings make amazing photoshoot locations

Yeah, old abandoned derelict buildings lol. Ive seen some brilliant shots. One was in the united states. a school like 50 year old. Some photographers went in and they took some amazing shots. One was off a blackboard, which hadnt been touched in like 50 year but still have sums and crap on it. Looked really spooky.

From what ive heard the things to look out for are:

Homeless/tramps living in them
Asbestos
unsecure floors/walls
security lol
and wild animals.

This si what i read on an american site mind. Dont think ill find any mountain lions up here like lol.

My first attempt. Im going for 2 different looks. This look, vibrant colours and dark blacks and black and white (my B+W pictures is still uploading :)). We had a canny time. But need to find places where you can get right into the buildings.

yeah the is a massive run down warehouse / factory in Macclesfield (NW members might know it) on the other side of the river, but I dont know if you can get close enough to use it as a backdrop

Yep, Nikon D40x :). I really wanna try some industrial photography but i know health and safety would be a huge issue for sites. Up here we have tons of ship builders yards like Swanhunters etc. Would be great for pics.

i live in sunderland and i havent found any abandoned buildings for a while now mainly cos of pesky property developers. a few years ago ther used 2 b a massive mansion that was abandoned for a few years and was absouletely huge inside, had a swimming pool and everythin. Unfortunately greedy developers knocked it down for old people flats.

yeah the original pics look ****e compared to the edited ones like, but im really happy with how i made them look, most of them i just adjusted the curves (image, adjustments, curves) and then added lighting effects (filter, render, lighting effects), using the omni light type, then added my border etc. but yeah im dead happy with them, cant wait to go out and get some more sometime

Its a Bridge Camera. A fuji something or other. Its very similar to a DSLR is size and shape. And as you can see, takes very good photo's.
