Mine is currently under the flap thing in the boot, but I have interference so I want to ground it where suggested in another thread.

Here is where I want to ground it:

How do I actually do that? How is the bolt secured at the back? There doesnt seem to be any room to screw a bolt/nut behind

I've grounded there but just used a metal screw with a washer to push against the ring terminal. Haven't put a bolt through as shown on that pic but its still nice and solid and no interference issues.

mine is grounded on the seat bolt thing. i get interference, but i also got interference when i had it ground to the bolt in the gap near the rear speakers :dontknow: it really p*sses me off. only get it on my front comps...my sub is fine.

The place in the pic works well for me. Once you've grounded put a dollop of vaseline on it and the surrounding area. It prevents rusting of the sanded bare metal as it blocks out the elements and maintains a good connection. Also try to ground both amps to the same point.

That isnt really surprising - the frequency range of the interference is most likely outside of the crossover / frequency range of the sub.

I dont understand where the nut/screw/bolt screws into, to hold the ring terminal of the ground lead?

I know theres a hole there, but how do you screw it tight? Cant get my hand behind to put a nut on the other side

Best way ever to cure interferance, ground your RCA leads...

There is a inner and outer, ground the outer :)

i ground to where the seats lock onto, when you pull them forward... and grounded my RCA leads with 16awg wire

took the boot carpit out and then drilled small hole near the seats, then screwed it in there

i found the best place was a seat belt bolt and dont have any interference works fine i used the rear passanger left bolt, but depends on the length of ur cable and where ur mounting it

My amp for my sub is grounded to the seat bolt, easy to hide all the wires then and looks neater.

How do you ground RCAs mate? Heard of it but never explored as I've been lucky with no interference in any of my installs. It'd be good to know. Thanks

Ive managed to poke the bolt and nut through. So its in the hole, but I cant tighten it up, as the thread of the bolt just spins with the nut/washer. I cant hold the nut at the other end as I cant get any pliers behind the panel.

How do I tighten it up???

I was able to just push on it firmly with my finger to stop it spinning. If that doesnt work, ied try getting a flat head screwdriver in there and pushing as hard as you can against the side of the bolt. Failing that, get one of those lock washer things...

And put that between the bolt head and the metal work. That should help.

Also, have you made sure you have sanded away the paint to the bare shiny metal on the side the ring terminal will be bolted against ?

I looked for you today at PVS mate but didnt see you :(

Cut some of the outer casing off the RCA lead, wrapped wire round it, tapped them together and grouneded the wire i had taped upto the RCA
