Argh,

Easy guys... another ****ing problem. Let me tell you a story, sorry to bore you but it maybe info you need to know.

I have a 2.2cuft box in the boot holding my XXX12, i had a MD2D lent up against it all wired in working and it was leaning against the back seats! This has worked like this for the past 6 months never a problem at all. During this time the dustcap came off my XXX around 3 months ago, i just got round to clueing it back on, so i took the sub out the box, disconnected the wires and brought it in my house, glued the dustcap left it 48 hours to dry. During this time, i disconnected all leads from the amp (power, remote, ground, rca, controller) brought the amp in the house sprayed a lil polish on the front of the case and gave it a rub to brighten it up!

Yesterday i wired my XXX back upto 1ohm, put it in the box! I decided to screw my amp to the back of my seats, did this, connected all the leads started car, BOTH my amps dont turn on... turned the car off, disconnected the Remote from the MD2D, started the car... my PDX came on and comps are working. Turned off car, reconnected remote, took earth out... started car and both amps turn on... But if Remote and Earth are plugged in the MD2D neither of my amps turned on!

I thought maybe the amp being screwed to the back of the seats is causing a earth issue, dont understand why as it was leant up against the seats for 6 months or something! So, i unscrewed the amp, put a block of wood under it... disconnected and reconnected all leads... Turn on and the XXX sucks in makes a loud knocking noise... so i promptly turn the car off, tried again the same! I thought maybe a techincal error from me and i wired the VoiceCoils wrong on the sub, double checked and nope there @1ohm. Disconnected RCA from amp, started the car, MD2D is on and the XXX again does this sucking in and a loud whinning and knocking noise. Turned car off. Removed the Controller leads, try again ... Same... Turned gain completely off... Same. So i disconnected all leads, plugged in GND, Remote, PWR. Now the amp just goes into Protect... Tried with RCA in&out, same with Controller... Just keeps going into Protect now.

During all this testing my earthpoint hasnt moved in 6 months, i tried another earth point today and still the same. Power lead is getting a good 14v, and there is a steady 12v coming from remote lead. I used a volt metre to check all these and put the earth of the volt meter onto my earth point to get all the readings.

Now... my idea is ive shagged the amp screwing it to the back of the seat, i dont understand how but still .... its really ****ing me off its been 4 days without any bass and its getting to me now.

Please if someone has any information or idea's fire away im open to any suggestions, guts shots of the MD2D canbe taken on request.

Thanks

Have you tried running it at 2ohm or 4ohm?

Why when the amp goes into protection with no RCA attached of Sub ...

Do you not think i have?

The amps ****ed...

14v coming from bat, 12v from remote, GND is perfect, have bridged PWR to Remote, still protection. Ive took the whole board out of the amp cant see a blown component, but i broke it...

Sending to TDR for repair soon.

US Amps + RE = :doublethumbs:
